The Dental Hygienist - Mike
Mike, a 2007 graduate of the Pierce College Dental Hygiene Program in Lakewood, WA, is committed to providing patients with the highest standard of care available. Participating in various public health events as well as working with the Pierce County Health Department visiting elementary schools and educating children, Mike's primary focus is to increase public awareness about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease and oral cancer conditions.
Mike believes that the primary role of the hygienist is a resource for information and being a patient advocate, not simply a person who cleans teeth. By partnering with Dr. de Vigne and Pike Place Dental, Mike works to educate their patients about the parallels between good oral health and overall health. Together, they are excited about introducing new methods for early detection and treatment of periodontal disease, oral cancer, and dental decay.
Mike and his wife, Debi, have been married since 2007. Together they live in Fife with their Golden Retriever, Jax. In Mike's spare time, he enjoys traveling, snowboarding, Seattle sports (Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies), and spending time with friends and family.
